The INDIAN HERITAGE SOCIETY was established in 1979 in New Delhi. The same year a Chapter was started in Mumbai.
In 1998 the Society was registered in Mumbai as the INDIAN HERITAGE SOCIETY – MUMBAI under the Societies Registration Act, 1980 as extended to Maharashtra with Registration No. 2235 dated 30/04/1998.
To awaken the consciousness of the people in the diversity and richness of their art, architecture, culture and natural resources such as wild life, forests, mountains, sea beaches, lakes and rivers, and rare geographical formations.
To estimate interest in and understanding of the objectives of the Society by all possible means.
